I received my financial aid package this morning. Good news: I can afford to go! Just confused because I thought EA financial aid wasn’t coming out till January.
Anyone else received their financial aid yet?
@cuppasbux and @cabound2 I will start a new message thread so I don’t hijack this one and answer questions there! I will also PM both of you my email address happy to answer anything I can! My kids are both in the film school so their experiences reflect that but we are quite happy and, while like any school it has some pros and cons, I am a big fan!!
CONGRATS! I sent you a PM with my email. So many amazing screenwriting professors! My son just took intro to screenwriting with the screenwriter from the original Transformers—he was “shook” as the kids say.
I’m so scared! I totally forgot EA film production majors have a delayed date! I was so ready to get it after finals and then I looked it up again and saw it is in February. Absolutely gut wrenching! Love Chapman and good luck to everyone else!
My son got in with a 3.164 weighted GPA, 23 superscored ACT. So they clearly are looking at the whole student. He applied ED. Had a horrible freshman year, transferred out of catholic school back to public school. Has taken 2 AP classes. I think his essays were great and really spoke about what he knows he CAN do in the future, and not what he HAS done in the past! Who knows what they’re looking for!
cabound2, do you mind sharing uw gpa, rigor and test stats? My DD is interested in ED to screenwriting for next year. And also any other hooks for that program. Congratulations!
Touchwood, My daughter is an IB Diploma candidate, so her rigor is very strong. She is taking an IB Film class as part of her diploma as well. Her grades are strong - - straight A’s in her IB diploma, with maybe 1 B in 9th and 1 in 10th grade. Her test scores were probably the weakest part of her application - SAT - 1280 - (her verbal score was 700 though, so maybe that helped?) Chapman requires a LOT of essays, and then Dodge requires more writing, so I feel like they were able to get a good look at who she is and what her writing is like. She fell in love with Dodge when we visited, so she is SO excited to have gotten into such a competitive program. I am happy to answer any other questions you might have. Good luck!!
Thank you for this information and congrats to your D.
Who here is also waiting for EA film production? ?? I’m dying
Good luck to anyone else who may here in the next two weeks!!! I think in the past it was around the 9th!
