The Office of Admission will begin mailing out decisions for those who applied Early Action for Fall 2013 on December 20. The first batch of decisions will be mailed on December 20 and will continue going out on a regular basis. However, if you applied to the Film Production program, decisions will not be mailed until mid-January. Keep checking WebAdvisor for the status of your application.

Good luck, everyone!

Thanks so much for the information. One question – if a decision was reached earlier, does that possibly indicate it will also be mailed in an earlier group, starting Dec. 20? Or is there no correlation between decision date and mailing group? Thank you.

No decisions have been mailed out for Early Action as of yet. So even if a decision was made earlier, the decision letter won’t go out until December 20. So you are correct, there is really no correlation between decision date and mailing date.

My S’s EA application status changed to “Fall term grades requested.” Does this mean he is being deferred to Regular Decision, or does this mean a decision will be made on his application soon after you have received his fall grades (which won’t be until the end of January)?

He did not appy to Dodge.

Will the other majors within Dodge be mailed on 12/20; is it just film production that takes longer? Or will all who applied to Dodge receive theirs later? Thanks.

I believe that all EA decisions, except Film Production/Digital Arts, will be mailed on Dec 20th.

It’s just film production that takes longer.

No. If he applied EA he is still considered EA. It just means his application is on hold until we receive the fall grades from his school. Once we receive those, he will still move forward as an EA applicant.

Thank you for that clarification, AdmissionOffice!

It is so great that you’re online Admission Office, and we don’t have to just speculate. How refreshing of Chapman. I have been quite impressed with y’all. LMU on the other hand hasn’t given anyone any information, and their webadvisor isn’t working so far this year.

is the letter indicating info not complete because school of theater
requires an audition?

Yes, that would most likely explain the letter if you’ve submitted everything else.

I understand that decisions will begin to be mailed Dec. 20. My question: Does that mean they will begin to be put in U.S. mail on that date? Or is there internal routing that must be completed before they actually go into the mail?

They will actually be mailed on December 20.

Thank you for that update!

AdmissionOffice,
Are you mailing today all decisions made to date? When will you update WebAdvisor from “decision reached” to “decision mailed”?

^I have the same question!

I saw on chapman admission twitter that yesterday they went to one admits house and personally gave her the admit letter. Said she was the first admit! They must be sending out admission notices now!

^That’s wonderful.
How I feel for you all! Last year we were in your shoes and the wait was soooo difficult. Now, DS is a Dodge freshman…home for the holidays, full of good cheer after a great semester, and SO very happy with his college choice.
Best wishes! Fingers crossed for every one of you. Exciting times.
