Chapman Fall 2013 Transfer

@smalone3d

I emailed my admissions counselor a print out of my math grade because they requested that of me too! She said it would work and two days after my status changed to decision reached. So here is to hoping that we are both accepted :slight_smile: but it’s only been one day since the status change, and there is still nothing on my financial aid! I’m just so darn anxious! And I will definitely keep you posted the second something else changes.

@smalone3d … Waiting to hear back from USC and Pitzer. I had my interview with Pitzer yesterday.

Chapman also generated me a Financial Aid package today, one that included Federal Work-Study and need-based aid. I am e-mailing back asking if there is any feasible way to increase the aid package, as I am not eligible for any state assistance. I’ll be losing my MD grant by attending an out-of-state university and I am not eligible for CalGrants until the following academic year.

Not to mention that my fianc

@melraecan I sent in the grades yesterday and now I’m back to decision pending! Gahh!

Do we have to decide by June 1st if we’re going there or not (if you get accepted)?

@smalone3d

I know the pain! haha mine changed back to pending for two days, but since you are hitting a weekend, maybe yours will change to “decision reached” on Monday hopefully. I’m still checking the mailbox like a crazy person, and still no financial aid so I’m nervous. We will see though! Chapman and USC are my top two, so I really hope to get accepted to one of the two schools!
Keep me updated with changes!

@heyheyhey1

I really do not know. I plan on asking that IF I get accepted. I would like to hear from all of my schools before I make a decision.

@melraecan I applied to USC as well, only these 2 schools…Fingers crossed for both of us!

Hi Heyheyhey!

It looks like the official answer to your question is that June 1 for a transfer admitted student is the date needed to make the enrolment deposit.

One can discuss their situation with the Office of Admissions if they need more time to decide. But remember there are many students on the waiting list that have applied and are hoping for any spot that has not been accepted.

Just in case anyone gets the idea of making Enrollment Deposits to more than one college if they cannot make up their mind be aware of this: if a college discovers a double depositor it is within their rights to withdraw that individual’s offer of admission:

@RandomNewGuy how many credits is that 70 out of?

I can’t believe they transfer more than 60…

70 out 79. I have 67 on my program evaluation, and 3 pending. I was lucky to have someone that works with transfer students really help me out with the process. Basically, I would have all of my GE reqs fulfilled except one. Couldn’t be happier.

ACCEPTED! Dodge College TV and Broadcast Journalism!

@RandomNewGuy
Can you let me know who you spoke to regarding your transfer credits? I’m going to need to have a chat with them myself :)

Congrats melraecan!! Did your letter come today?

I’m still decision pending…let’s hope I get a decision mailed soon too. :)

@smalone3d
Yes! It was pretty exciting. Before it arrived me Program Evaluation was updated and filled out so keep an eye on that. Yours will change soon as well. They requested my math grade just a few days before yours. Good luck!!! Keep us updated!

@melraecan What does your Program Evaluation look like? Can you see a financial aid reward when you click on “financial aid award letter”?

Wait!? Does the Program evaluation list all the GE’s youve completed and the ones you still need to complete as well as your Major requirements!!! Freaking out because my evaluation is up for the screenwriting major!!! Wow… I should probably stop getting too exited if this is on everyones….

Congratulations Melraecan for getting into the Broadcast Journalism & TV Production program at Dodge College! It is one of the top 3 programs I feel in the country for this major and should open many doors for you upon graduation.

I can see you worked very hard in college and you deserve the spot; from a previous post of yours I saw your very impressive stats:

3.8 GPA
All pre-req’s met
LOTS of EC’s
And work 30 hours a week

Again congratulations on this great accomplishment! Sukahjoy

@smalone3d… You should see what the requirements for your program are and what credits have transferred in based on the articulation agreement with your school.

Just FYI, I did not receive my Financial Aid letter until today and I was accepted last month. It was generated sometime last week. I don’t think it’ll be that difficult for most folks.

Congrats, melraecan. I PM’d you the contact information with the person I was communicating with. She was very helpful. As I move closer to the enrollment deposit deadline, the degree in which Chapman has been willing to work with me has made the school a more likely landing spot to complete my undergrad. I really liked the campus and I have been impressed with the college during this process.

Thanks for the info RandomNewGuy. My Program Evaluation doesn’t have anything listed from my current college except a waiver for some math classes and 2 non-transferrable courses. But then again, I am still at decision pending so I’m not gonna read into that right now.

Decision reached!

Got my accepted letter today

Major – Film Production

GPA: 3.07

Accepted: NYU Tisch (Film & Television Production)
