bigmamabear , i wonder why some people got admissions approved and decision complete and we weren’t right to decision mailed UGH. ru from around the LA area?

@mere24 Seriously? Geez. That’s kind of ridiculous. Where are you from?

I’m from Chicago so I was hoping it’d get here this week.

I live in Toronto, Canada but I still think it should have gotten here by now. I got the postcard saying my app was completed after a decision was made on webadvisor…

My stats, aka low uw gpa, will probably give all you guys that havent heard back yet hope since i got my acceptance letter today!!!
2.8 uw gpa but weighted not counting freshman year (which is how chapman calculates it is 3.5
2030 sat
Really good essay explaining my low grades freshman year but mediocre extracurriculars
and yeah thats about it

@dsprunk, it had to happen to us, huh? No, we’re clear across the country.

Congrats dude! That’s great :)

@mere24 Hmm, yeah it’s weird that you don’t have it yet. Although, international mail to Canada can really suck. My sisters are in Montreal (and I know it’s not the same as Toronto) and sending them stuff can take ages so it’s hard to say.

bigmamabear me tooo!!

titanis2 what did you apply as? ru from california?

@mere: My daughter’s changed to “decision mailed” on January 6, after saying “admission approved,” and she has not received her packet yet, either.

@oregoniamom
At least I’m not the only one in this situation! I’m sure it just takes forever for mail to arrive.

I know but on webadvisor, it still says January 6th…

At least you know you’re accepted, though. That’s gotta be a huge relief.

hahah yeah it is. I’ve always wanted to go to college in southern cal

Mine says it was mailed 1/13 and I’ve been checking the mailbox every day that mail has been delivered since then with no luck. Chapman is only about a 20 minute drive from where I live…HOW LONG DOES THE MAIL TAKE?? Haha.

so does admission approved mean you got in?!

I submitted my application and all other materials on November 13, but I just notcied that on my Webadvisor, it said that everything was recieved on November 17, and my transcript on Demcember 6.

Did I make the November 15 EA deadline?

@heshing Same thing happened with my transcripts and such, only much later than that, and my status is currently ‘decision mailed.’ If you are looking under your documents tab, I am assuming that is when they were processed, because that date on mine is much later than the 11/15 received date (yes, I sent in my application the day of…haha.) under my ‘Admission Status’ tab.

TO CLARIFY:

I would go by the ‘received’ date under ‘Admissions Status’ rather than ‘My Documents.’ However, I do not know if that is where you are already looking.

For those of you who haven’t visited campus here is a little info from what I noticed. The campus is pretty much divided in half. One half academic and one half residential. The academic party is pretty much one square block, not considering that Dodge is a couple blocks away. The campus is gorgeous and very open. Despite the small space, the campus is designed to feel very open. The buildings are all in AMAZING condition. I didn’t see any that looked even remotely outdated. The dorms are all across the street. Once again they are in amazing condition. There is a cafeteria over there so the days that you don’t have classes you could easily stay close to your dorm.

Ive been on about 10 college visits and Chapman’s campus was by far the nicest. I wouldn’t let any concerns about the campus or buildings play any role in your admission decision. I can pretty much guarantee that seeing the campus would only want you to go there more. At least thats what it did for me :)

@heshing I had a pretty similar thing happen to me. I emailed them and they told me everything was fine. Honestly, I think the dates on WebAdvisor speak more towards when the computer processed them online. You made the deadline, there’s no way they’d make that big an error and cheat you out of two days. My WebAdvisor says the same thing. If you’re nervous about it, you can email them, but it’s most likely not a big deal :)

@zanneth, @JLR123: I was looking at the dates under “My Documents”, but under “Admission Status”, the date is correct. Thanks for the advice / reassurance!
