Chapman University -- for non-Christian?

My daughter is an East Coast non-observant Jew. She is interested in Film and would love to go to school in California. I’m confused about Chapman. Is it Christian in name only? Would she feel out of place? Are there any religion requirements?

Have you gone to their website? The college is affiliated with liberal Christian denominations so there is broad acceptance of other faiths and those with no faith.

We have several jewish friends whose children attend there. Even though it was started as a religious school, there is no religion within the general curriculum.

Why spend the extra money to go to a private christian school when she can go to the USC system or a different college? I’m sure there are different, good options for a film major in California that is bordering non-religious.

@Ultimablade‌ For the record, USC is also a private CA school. If you are referring to the UC system…those are a different set of schools.

@kgos16‌, my bad. I thought they were thesame schools. Oh well.

Jewish friend of my son has had a great experience in the film program at Chapman.

thanks to all. Sounds like we will visit and she’ll probably apply.
