So I have been accepted to both Chapman University and Loyola Marymount University both for communication studies and I’m having some trouble deciding which school/program/location/student life will be more worthwhile and the best experience! I’m grateful that finances aren’t really a burden for me, so that aspect doesn’t need to be factored in as much. I personally live quite close to Chapman and have been wanting to move to LA for some time, though I have heard that Chapman has a better program, though LMU is ranked higher on different sites, and has a higher salary for alumni. As for the student life of both schools, I am slightly worried about going to Chapman because I am black and there is very little diversity on campus (over 60% white and less than 2% black, though that was essentially how my high school was), though the community appears to be (correct me if i’m wrong) relatively accepting. As for LMU, the school has greater diversity, though as a non-religious person, I am not sure how good of fit a Jesuit school would be for me. Would love to hear opinions on both schools! Thanks!
