Does anyone know if this college is reputable or is it like university of phoenix?
This is a reputable, non-profit college that has been operating since the 1970s. It was developed to help working adults finish degrees, and as someone who has been a student there for the past couple of years, I think my classes have been (mostly) extremely valuable, taught by professionals in the field I’m studying, and fairly challenging.
Yeah to parrot what Irishmomof2 said, basically any non-for-profit college has more reputable reputation than for-profit colleges. There are some exceptions, but Charter Oak State seems legit.
Charter Oak IS legit. It is a CT state university. It is regionally accredited by the same people that accredit Yale. Though is a CT state univ, people all over the world can attend. It’s particularly appropriate for people who are on active duty military trying to get credits (no residency requirements.) Also works well for homeschoolers who want cheapish HS/college degrees at the same time, and for those people who need bachelor’s degrees quickly so they can apply to grad school.
COSC also allows for quite a large amount of CBE (credit-by-exam) options - CLEP and DSST are just two.
