Cheap schools to take TRANSFERRABLE classes at

I need to take 3 liberal studies courses (anything related to culture, history, philosophy, psychology etc.) this winter (which reallly sucks!), and I'm looking for the cheapest possible schools.

I know UMass has lots of $900 3-credit courses, can I find anything below that? I don't know anything about online colleges, are those legit?

I welcome any advice from you.

Thanks!

community college. It’s usually the cheapest and the easiest. I’d avoid online but it might be worth checking with an advisor just to be sure.

I was under the impression classes had to be taken at a 4 year school? Or am I mistaken?

I think people can transfer courses taken at Community Colleges as well.

nope, I took a bunch of CC classes one summer and they transfered credits no problem.

Not sure about the exact cost of SUNYs/CUNYs, but maybe they’re a possibility? I took some courses at CUNY Queens College during my senior year of high school, and all of the credits transferred pretty easily.

a lot of transfer students are taken from CCs, myself included.
