He ended up calling the honor people and they took his statement. They said they will call back for full details in a day or two.

Why don’t we just worry more what’s on our own plate and not what’s on another’s? The best lesson here is that the real world is full of cheaters. Some get ahead falsely - most fail miserably eventually. We need to live our own lives and not worry about things outside our circle of influence. Just remember: players gonna play, play play; fakers gonna fake fake fake. As for you- just shake shake shake; shake it off.

I appreciate that this student was conflicted. However, if someone doesn’t step up to help enforce the system, there is no system. At the very least, the cheater should be “scared straight,” even if there are not formal charges filed.

When I was at UVa, students would be insulted if a prof stayed in the room to watch over them during an exam, because it meant they could not be trusted. Almost every prof left the room.

As I said on 12/17 he called and filed a charge but the Honor Court never called back for a full account despite his telling them that he was leaving the country to study abroad starting just after the New Year. I don’t know if they are going to use the preliminary statement or simply not follow up. He is not happy with the process.
@Proud2BAWahoo - I sure hope your post doesn’t mean you think people shouldnt turn in cheaters because it sure sounds like it. That is not what I would expect from an honorable UVA student.
