Yeah I have a funny story about writing too. So this kid from my school decided to write the answers for the CONSTITIUTION TEST, yeah that one that you need to pass high school, all up and down his arm. At first no one noticed but after they all came back to lunch . . .

Aside: This kid was the the same kid who was extremely bad in all of his classes and tormented every teacher he had (many students as well). He even shut a student teacher we all hated inside the classroom by shoving his desk against the door (he was a big guy, football player). Freshman year he peed his pants for $10 that he never saw. He wasn't that bright but one of those kids that always seems to make it to the next honors class and you wonder, "How?"

End of tangent: After lunch he comes back and the teacher said to be quiet and anyone who talked now would be kicked out of the room and unable to finish the test. Jokingly he says, "What did you say?" and she told him that she warned everyone and took his test away. He FLIPS OUT and starts throwing desks and chairs (comically this was expected from him) and in the process of his fake temper tantrum, he takes off his button up that he had on over his t-shirt. One girl who can't ever keep quiet says, "What is on your arm?" Sure enough it was answers to the constitution test. I wish I could have seen the look on the teacher's face. I don't know how he passed but it was something to laugh about for a while. Whatta dumbass.

Wellesley has an honors code... i think its so cool...

so finals week

you go to this office place and pick up the exam with your id like 30 minutes before your supposide time
then you go to these little rooms
some of them are marked "open book" while others are "closed book"
and then 'bout 3 hours later you come out and turn in your finals. like, if its due at 2:30, then you better turn it in to the office with your name and stuff at 2:30

you also get to pick when you want to take them, so there's these slots in "finals week" and, like, for example, you would hypothetically sign up for 11:00 tuesday for math and 3:00 thursday for biology

Of course it goes on. I doubt you can name a single school that it doesn't happen at.

That doesn't make it right, though.

As people have said, the consequences can be dire. You could get off easy with an F in the course, or be expelled, depending on the school. This is especially true of schools with honor codes (W&L comes to mind--any lying, cheating or stealing to any degree and you'll find yourself back home before you know what hit you). It's just a stupid stupid stupid thing to do. If it's so bad that you feel you need to cheat, talk to someone. Your professor, advisor, a counselor of some sort--just don't cheat.

As far as high school goes, again, of course cheating happens. Unfortunately, it's pretty easy to get off with little or no consequences at most schools. I wish more high schools had honor codes. Mine does, and the level of trust it has created is amazing. We leave lockers unlocked, instruments and book bags in the halls, and (until a recent theft by someone outside of the school) cars unlocked. Teachers have no problem handing a test to a student and trusting him or her to take it on his or her own without cheating. If you do get caught cheating, you have to go to a hearing (by fellow students). If found guilty you usually get suspended and placed on honor warning (meaning that if you ever go before the honor council again, you're expelled). If it's a very severe case, you get expelled regardless. In fact, I had a friend that got expelled for hiding notes in the restroom before an exam and then getting excused to use the restroom during the exam. That had to hurt his college apps. I'll say it again; it's a stupid stupid stupid thing to do.

I find it ridiculous that students would leave their car doors unlocked. It doesn't matter if you trust everyone around you...it's just plain stupid to leave a car unlocked sigh

i have been driving for over 2 years and have locked my car less than 10 times total. Maybe i am naive but i don't think anyone at my school would steal from me. I probably should lock it but i never had my car broken into.
