cheating on appeals!

I Know someone who did not write the essay they used and got in on an appeal at ucsb, but they did not even get looked at by uc davis. what should i do because I know they cheated( the person who lent them the essay for an english class told me) and I personally do not think it is fair that they get to attend ucsb when there are others that are more qualified!

Life is not fair. The guy worked the system and got by. You dont even want to know how much stuff i did, and still got rejected by UCLA appeal. Do as you wish but this is CERTAINLY not the first or last time you see something like this happen. The truth sucks.

I think you should just forget about it and move on. Lots of people don't write their own essays or have their essays edited by others so much that they aren't really their words anymore. Just be thankful that many kids more qualified than you decided to sir to other schools which made it possible for you, with lesser stats than those originally admitted, to gain admittance. I know 2 girls at my school that appealed to UCSB who I never thought would get admitted but they both were. UCSB just needed to fill spaces with bodies and the person who cheated filled a space. If they really don't deserve to be at UCSB, their classes will be too hard and they'll be going home soon enough.

That's messed up. I don't know if there's anything you should do about it, but that's on you. If you could prove anything, maybe you should try and take action. I don't want to act "holier than thou," but I think it's really offensive when somebody cheats like that. It's a slap in the face to all the people who earned their way in, and it takes a spot away from someone who put honest effort into their appeal. Madkapitolist, I don't know your statistics, but I'm glad UCLA didn't accept your appeal. I have friends who successfully appealed to UCLA on their own merit, and you might have inadvertantly denied their admission if you had cheated your way in. As for beating the system, he's not in the clear yet. If looloo takes action, he almost certainly will not be allowed into SB. Looloo, I don't know what I would do in your position, but good luck regardless.
