Cheating on the SAT

Have you ever seen anyone cheat on the SAT? Or had a feeling someone was copying your answers?

Well was my first time taking the SAT, I sat in the very front and from the corner of me eye it looked the girl whos desk was diangonaly behind mine WAS LOOKING AT MY TEST BOOKLET!.......eh what a looser.

You guys have any stories?

i don’t know if we’re supposed to talk about this stuff but. . .

but today i saw several people going back to previous sections.

everyone has different tests, so she probably just screwed herself up

what i thought everyone had the same test, otherwise how do they machine process?

that’s what your form code is for.

there’re about 4 different tests, the person sitting next (or in this case, diagonally) to you may have had the same test as you,but most likely didn’t

How many of you went back to previous sections? It’s not that rare a thing or is it?

There were some kids in the bathroom stalls during breaks with their electronic dictionaries.

I don’t believe that cheating is really possible in SATs … everyone has a different booklet anyways so the ppl who are looking around are just wandering where other ppl are or … copying … (then they are doomed >:) )

I tend to look around though not for the purpose of cheating (I don’t even notice I’m doing it), I am just curious at where everyone else is in their test.

In December, the girl in front of me had a whole packet of math information. She would take it out between sections, so not sure if that’s cheating but…

@ corey91
same here! It’s a really bad habit though. If my proctor was looking more closely at me, she would have probably taken away my test.

Yeah this girl went back to write her essay. It’s very tempting but I have a very guilty conscious.

a girl who sat in front of me

 1. texted
 2. went to the bathroom when it wasnt break time (she told the proctor that she was done and she will go to the bathroom in her remaining time)
 3. then she came back and went thru previous sections

The College Board takes cheating very seriously. The proctors create a seating chart and the scan-tron machine compares your score to the scores of students around you. If too many similar patterns are found between two test takers, the College Board will withhold the scores of both parties while they go through the tests by hand. If they believe that one or both of you cheated, they will cancel your scores and allow you to take the test again for free. This may seem extreme or unfair, especially to the person whose answers were copied, but its the only way to ensure that cheaters do not receive credit for copied work.

What is the difference between the pink and the blue versions ?Arenet the questions still the same ?

The order they go in.

You may be working on the first CR and the person next to you will be working on their first M, or something along the lines of that.

SpartyOn, is that really true about analyzing patterns? It seems a bit ridiculous.

But yeah I’ve cheated, I went back to finish the last sentence of my essay, and I don’t feel guilty.

My dam proctor notified Educational Testing Service in the Jan SAT that I worked on a section after time was called.

Ok,so what should be the difference between the two versions of the ‘‘pink’’ test ?
