So I'm a sophomore and I have not yet token the official SAT. However, my school did administer one from Kaplan on a Saturday.

So on CC there was this forum about this girl who went back to a previous section and got caught. She was written up for cheating and they took her test. Anyway I won't do anything that extreme but during the Kaplan test time was called and the proctor told everyone to put down their pencils. I was on the second to last question and I knew the answer so I waited when the proctor wasn't looking and I bubbled it in on my answer sheet before we started the next section. IDK if that's really cheating, I think it is but I was wondering is it considered cheating and should I never do it again? Also has anyone cheated before or have heard of someone that cheated??

PS: not saying I'm going to cheat because that would be soooooo stupid of me but Im just curious. :)

-_________- tsen char

Yes that’s cheating. It shouldn’t matter the consequences, just don’t cheat.

As for now, just internalize that you have done something wrong–and realize you will not do it again (because you feel guilty ldo).

you know doing such a thing gives you an unfair advantage. that is, in fact, cheating.

just get over it, and don’t do it again. ok?

everyone cheats. well, obvioiously not everyone, but alot of ppl. even if not hard-core cheating (i.e. looking at someones answers while taking th e test), many ppl simply discuss answers during breaks and then go back and change them when proctor turns his back or something like that. i heard, although im still looking for verification, that first time can only get warning and not get in trouble for going back a section on the sat. anyway, if ur gonna cheat, be very carefull and way the odds in ur head- is there a decent chance of u getting caught?- if there is, than aside from moral reasons, it’s not worth the far worse consequence of getting ur test taken away and a cheating report filed.

and all these CC kids who yell at ppl who went back a section and say it’s “wrong” and a “breach of contract”, discuss the answers and questions on this forum the instant they get back from the sat- THAT’S also a breach of contract.

but delmonico, discussing questions, while it is a breach of contract, isn’t cheating. cheating is what you do to give yourself an unfair advantage over others. merely discussing questions does not give someone an unfair advantage in anyway. but i must say that people who take the test earlier than the US does, like in asia, do sometimes post answers on this forum. but from what i’ve seen so far, such posts are very little. before i took the sat this may, 2 answers to the math questions were posted (the coffee question and the slope question).

and yes, many people cheat. but that’s other people. we’re talking about a specific person’s behavior. i know this is cliche, but if other people jumped off a building, would you?
there is no need to bring other people into this.

She bubbled in another answer!!! Ooooohh noooooo!!! -_____-

As an old guy and a teacher, of course I am anti-cheating. But this one seems minor to the point of maybe not even cheating. To be clear: you did not look back thru the test book? You just remembered the letter you intended to grid in? It’s a pretty stern view that would call this cheating. Suppose you noticed an incompete erasure in an earlier section. Would erasing it more thoroughly later be cheating? Hmm…

I know that the proctors read directions that say you are not to return to a section in the test booklet. But is there a specific rule about not returning to a section in the answer sheet booklet?

this is the most pointless thread I’ve ever read.

lol that’s kinda funny

First they’re bubbling in answers after time is called, next thing you know they’re dealing meth on street corners to kindergarteners.

ohayguise, I waz sooper nirvuss nd I didn’t kno wut to do, soz I jus bubbl’d in an answer. Is it otay if I makez a thred aboot it? trolololololol

Okay some of you are taking this too serious and calling this a stupid thread. And FYI if its a stupid thread then don’t comment, your just wasting space and your time… Anyway for AMZ1AMZ-- don’t worry I’m not going to dealing meth.

This was just a thread to see how and why people cheat on the SAT because I do understand that it’s very poor judgment and morally condemn. So if you have problems with it then don’t answer, simple as that!!!

“This was just a thread to see how and why people cheat on the SAT”
…cool story, bro

@Parhaitiy, loll hahahaha

You do it if you want. A kid I know cheated on the SAT. He is going to Harvard next year
