Cheating problem help!

I was accused of cheating in my freshmen French 2 class by a teacher who hated me. I wasn't teaching; my binder and papers were under my desk. My desk was positioned in front of my teachers desk, so it would've been very stupid of me to look down at my papers. However, after class once I noticed that my papers were on the ground, I picked them up and put them in my backpack. My teacher immediately accused me of cheating, but it was never proved. It isn't on my transcript and I didn't get a referral or detention. I just got a 0 on the test. Do I have to report it on my common app? Is my guidance counselor going to include it in her letter?

Shameless bump

Was it a 0 that seriously impacted your grade? Was the test a little quick quiz or was it a huge final exam or something similar?

Unless you were suspended or something, I don’t think it will be something you have to report. Your grade will be affected, but that’s about it. As for whether or not your guidance counselor will mention it, I would ask her just to make sure, but I doubt it. I mean, it was ninth grade. I’m so sorry that happened!

Why didn’t your parents fight the 0.

I would have been all over that.

Talk to your counselor- if it’s not on your transcript, chances are it won’t be something colleges see. But I would clarify this ASAP with the guidance office- you absolutely must be on the same page.
