Has the "Check credentials" tab been turned on yet?

You do realize that you could click on it and find out.

The tab has not appeared yet. I take it that yours has.

SAT scores were sent months ago and a transcript was supposed to have been sent weeks ago.

Oh well then they obviously haven't activated it yet. I can't remember, but I want to say that last year it was available after the application deadline, I'm not sure if it were available before then or not.

Yeah, dude, the EA deadline hasn't even passed yet. Start worrying about credentials come Thanksgiving.

what is "check credentials". . .

"SAT scores were sent months ago and a transcript was supposed to have been sent weeks ago."

I'm applying EA. . . and now I'm confused!!

It allows you to check whether or not Chicago has received all of the pieces of your application such as test scores, letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc.

I'm really trying to edit my essays, but so far I can only get them down to:

433 words (the Why Chicago question)
404 words (the favorites question)
786 words (the table question)

And with the SAT score reports, will the school get mine in time? I sent the score report with my October 2007 SAT scores.

well . . . If I'm applying EA should I have sent my transcript and SATs and stuff?

I have till Nov 1st, no?

If you are applying EA ,then by now you should have given your HS counselor and teacher's the recommendation forms they need to fill out, which include the request for transcripts. Recommendation letters take time to write, and both teachers and counselors are probably very busy writing letters and processing transcript requests for other students. You should also by now have requested your SAT scores be sent to the admissions office. If you haven't done these things then get to it asap.

Thanks- I'm okay then!

Wait, that doesn't make any sense. Why would they turn on the "Check Credentials" tab AFTER the deadline? Then if we are missing parts of the application, then won't it be too late to send them in???

And to ShanFan, WOW. 400 words for one of the questions, that's almost as long as usual main essays.

Well, I think if they don't have things after the deadline they'll contact you. As long as you can get it to them promptly after that I'm sure they won't mind. I seem to remember that happening to a few people on here last year.

Also, I don't think 400 words is too long for even one of the shorter essays. Mine are even a little longer than that, but I felt like I had a lot to say. Shanfan, I'd say you don't really need to cut your essays down, so long as what you have there is important. Then again, I'm not an expert.
