My son submitted his Stanford application in mid-August, and, because of all the issues with Naviance, mailed his letters of rec and transcript/school report/guidance counselor rec in September. He has not heard one word from Stanford as far as any portal that would allow him to check on his application status. The other three schools he applied to have places to sign in and check. Has anyone received instructions to access the portal to check application status? Using the contact form on the Stanford website leads to an angry canned response.

It seems Stanford does not download from CommonApp as frequent as other schools. Anyone got a confirmation e-mail from them yet?

There are instructions on Axess about this. You submit an inquiry (by clicking on a button) and get an e-mail about your status within 24 hours. At least this was the case last year. If you don’t ask for it, they don’t automatically send you a confirmation.

Thanks onemoreparent . Here is the link https://axess.sahr.stanford.edu/ We sent an inquiry–let’s see if it works!

That worked–immediate response with the parts of the app that have been processed. Check that one off the list.

Great. I will check it out. Stanford is the only one on my D’s CommonApp did not show the recommendations to be downloaded even after 10 days. That makes me worry about the application submission process.

I just verified that they have received the application and supplement but they did not process the school reports and recommendation yet. It seems it is the same as the status shown on CommonApp.

Since Naviance is another piece of garbage, we sent school reports/transcripts/LOR’s via regular mail using their mailing labels. They got it all and processed it. In the interim, the school was able to upload the school report via Naviance. The common app still shows that as “Submitted” only, and not “Downloaded” yet.

Just in case any of you are wondering (as I was last year): financial aid forms (i.e., CSS Profile) do not show up on the Axess-based application status check. So don’t freak out if they aren’t there.
