<p>At Carnegie Mellon it makes a big difference what school you are applying to. If you look at [Admission</a> > Admission Statistics](<a href=“Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University”>Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University) you should have a better idea what your chances are. I’d say you were probably a match - which is not a guarantee that you will get in of course. CMU is not known for being generous with aid.</p>

<p>You’d probably wind up taking out decent sized loans at CMU. I’d definitely apply to a few peer schools and see if they offer better aid. If they do and you like CMU better, you can let the financial aid office know and they might be willing to increase their offer (worked for me!).</p>
