Ok. So my daughter cheers on an allstars travelling team as well as on the high school team. Thinking about majoring in biology or some science related program. She may want to cheer at college and wondering if anyone has experience with this and what school they are attending. Thanks in advance.

Send a PM to molliebatmit. She can help you.

I can, indeed. :)

I majored in biology and neuroscience in college, and I was on the cheerleading squad all four years. (Actually, I'm still on the squad, though in a coaching capacity.)

Is your daughter looking for a highly competitive college squad, or a squad that's more relaxed? I can imagine it would be tough to be a science major on a really hard-core squad, but on my squad (club sport, a few competitions per year plus cheering at football and basketball games) it was a manageable commitment.

S's girlfriend is a cheerleading, biology major at the University of Miami. It is a big commitment but she has found it manageable, and has loves her experience. She cheers at all home games and 1-2 away games a season. Cheerleaders are treated as athletes and have access to tutors, trainers, etc.
