<p>Do you guys know if the Chem 1A midterm is curved?</p>

<p>harder or easier than last year? and it is somewhat curved or was last year.</p>

<p>it wasn’t too bad, i messed up a few multiple choice questions though. so if its out of 80, how much do they usually curve it?</p>

<p>Wow, i forgot that that class had a midterm this early. From what I remember (which may be totally wrong) was that they didn’t curve the midterms and final themselves, but would lower the grade cut-offs at the end of the semester by whatever they thought was reasonable.</p>

<p>I think last year’s was just more out of left field than it was hard, but that alone made it difficult.</p>

<p>it was pretty difficult compared to 2007’s which I aced on the first try. That’s why I went in so relaxed and came out with a B-/C+ grade lol.</p>

<p>Well, don’t don’t really curve anything until the very end. Even in that case… it’s not by much</p>

<p>i’m pretty sure each test is curved to an extent, but what it is is unknown. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have ended up with an A before the final.</p>

<p>it wasn’t. remember the scale was set before hand? like 87% > is A, 75%> is B. etc…?</p>
