Chem 3b Final Grades

Are any of you guys surprised about your grades? Is there a way for us to see how we did on the final? I felt I did well but got a lower grade than I expected :(

yeah you can see the final and request a regrade, but you need to contact the professor. he will probably re-grade the entire exam, but you should go for it if you have nothing to lose. act quickly, the sooner the better.

I though I did pretty well too but I received 1/3 of a grade lower than expected. You don’t know what the curve is either though so there’s really no way of knowing what you should have gotten. The average was probably pretty high for the final though. You should look at the solutions which are posted on bspace.

Same, i was expecting an A- But got B+. Yeah the average is probably higher than the midterms since the final was much more based on pure reactions than synthesis and mechanisms as compared to the midterms.

Yeah exact same thing happened to me. I was pretty bummed but what can you do about it. I felt like I learned the material pretty well and that’s more important to me than the grade.

does anyone know what the average was? I felt the final was tough but that everyone else felt the same way as well. I was going in with just 4 pts under the average (I think cuz i got a 126 and a 158 for the midterms) (so a B-) I guess but then I ended up with a C+, so freaking frustrated with how much work I put in and the results I got with organic chemistry…hopefully med schools don’t look at it too much

I think the average is probably higher than the midterms but I am not sure. Did you guys take bio 1b too? How did you guys do on that?

Also, don’t worry too much about that C+ because I’m sure you did fine on the lab part so it sort of evens out to a B when u average the 3 units from the lecture to the 2 units from the lab. Just keep your grades up from here on.
