I'm #9 on the waitlist for chem 6A honors and each section has 40 people. Does this mean I'll be able to get the class or should I just forget about it? It says the class is only offered in the fall so I'll be missing my chance if I can't take it now.

It’s possible, but no one can guarantee whether you can get into the class or not. I would try to stay on the wait list as long as possible because people may start to drop the class once the quarter starts. Also keep an eye on the other sections, just in case space opens up in one of them, so that you can still get a spot in the class. Make sure you have a back-up class that you are pretty confident you could still enroll in once the quarter starts (when the limit unit goes up to 22 units, I think). That way you have a backup class in case you don’t get in. If you do, you can just drop the other class.

Are you taking CHEM 6AH because you already have credit for CHEM 6A? If that is the case, you can still progress with your other classes (like o-chem and such), and come back and take this course next year, if you still really want to.
