Chem for Engineering Majors

I have the option of taking Chem H2A (I think that was the name) as an incoming freshman because one of the ways to get in is by having over 700 on the SAT subject, but I'm not sure if I should take it. What Chem do Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering majors usually take and do you recommend me to take it?

Most of the engineering majors I know are not in the honors chem classes, so I doubt you will need the honors. I think most take regular Chem 1A but I am not sure of the advantages/disadvantages either way.

I see, I guess I’ll just ask the counselor people when I go to orientation. Just wondering, but is college like high school where people go all over-achieving? I don’t want to go through that again. >_>

I don’t know, honors in college is very different than honors in college. From my understand a lot of the people in honors chemistry are chemistry or chemical engineering majors.

i think a lot of bio majors are in there. i heard they opened honors chem to bio majors (so pre meds followed…)

honors in college is not like honors in high school where everyone has like 10 honors. most people who want to set themselves apart just do research (and you can do honors research where you have a thesis if you really want). but some kids are in the honors mode and will load up no matter what.
