im in college of chem and i want to apply for haas...
my classes are math 53 chem 4a and ethnic studies 41ac. and trying to add another breadth requirement class

i am trying to satisfy my breadth course and R&C requirements from community college next summer since i cannot take all the chemE prerequisites with haas prerequisites. so if i get grades from community college, do they count for gpa when i apply to haas with grades from cal or are they only to prove that i satisfied requirement?

im not doing double major but i still have interest in business so i want to just try applying to haas and if i get in i would choose b/w chem E and haas.

IMO, you should think hard and make that decision now. Having to cram in so many classes into the summer means you'll be missing out on internship experiences, which can end up the bigger deciding factor for both you personally as well as prospective employers. In other words, classes shouldn't dictate your choice of field.

Plenty of people with technical majors move on into careers in finance. You could always take some business courses at Berkeley while working towards a chemE.

You should also get more intimately acquainted with your peers to see what kind of culture you feel more comfortable in. Choosing majors can be based more on value systems than skill or interest, and it's important that you can connect with the people you will eventually be working with.
