I know there were some previous posts on RIT's chemical engineering and it's ABET Accreditation. On the ABET website, RIT isn't on the list for chemical engineering. Does anyone know when will chemical engineering be ABET Accredited? Or should I not bother applying to RIT?

You will need to call RIT. If their chem engineering has only recently tried to get accreditation then they need one graduating class to occur before they can get approval. Then as I understand it, it will be retroactive to other graduating class. Call RIT and ask them where they are in the process.

Okay thanks! Would anyone suggest that i apply to this school? From what people said before, it’s not that great. So, anyone now have opinions?

We dug into this last year when S applied. Program is relatively new, so is not yet accredited. Process is underway, and when accreditation is achieved, past grads are retroactively accredited.

When contacting the Ch E dept about this they were very helpful and forthcoming with info.
