HOw competitive is the chemical engineering program at OSU…I am looking at UMich and Illinois as well and am wondering whether OSU is better/as good as/worse/far worse than these colleges chemical engineering programs.

Also does anybody know the chemical engineering departments rank? I know they dont matter, but i do like to see the ranks in comparison to other schools.

forget about rankings. They are always based on information which has litte or nothing to do with the qualtiy of eductation opportunity in the classroom.

UM and UIUC have very good engineering colleges and you will not go wrong in attending either one. But OSU's engineering college is highly regarded by prospective employeers and academics too. But also take a close look at your in-state flagship and technologic universities too. They may offer even bigger bang for the buck.

Research them all and visit if possible. Make your choice based on where you think you would feel most comfortable and happy attending. If none emerges as a clear first choice, UM(I cant believe I am saying this) certainly wouldn't be a bad choice.

BTW, I am an OSU engineering graduate. I then went on to grad school at Cornell and I can attest that my undergrad preparation was every bit as excellent as my fellow grad students.

well im instate for OSU so it is a lot cheaper, plus I got Maximus which helps out a bit. I just wanted to make sure OSU's engineering undergraduate program is strong and you know up to par with the rest of the country haha
