HOw competitive is the chemical engineering program at OSU....I am looking at UMich and Illinois as well and am wondering whether OSU is better/as good as/worse/far worse than these colleges chemical engineering programs.

Also does anybody know the chemical engineering departments rank? I know they dont matter, but i do like to see the ranks in comparison to other schools.

thanks

I don't have the full list available, but Minnesota and Wisconsin are ranked quite a bit higher than OSU (staying in the Big Ten)... both the Minn. and Wisc. programs are actually ranked above Illinois and UMich, as ChemE is one of those schools' "weaker" engineering programs, though obviously still strong. I don't know much about the OSU program in particular, but my general impression of their engineering school as a whole is that it is solid, but only about middle of the pack in the Big 10, or slightly lower.

For Big 10 ChemE, I would rank something like: Minn, Wisc, Mich, UIUC, PSU, Northwestern, Purdue (not one of their strengths), then OSU.

Believe it or not, U of Delaware is considered to be an outstanding ChemE school, on par with like Berkeley and Cal Tech in the field. Bucknell is also very good, and more undergrad-focused than the large schools, but quite expensive.
