Chemistry experiment...

random chem question:

so there is this experiment i am supposed to do for our lab final, where you put a bottle of pop in a cooler with water, ice, and salt (so it gets really cold), then you open up the bottle of pop and it explodes, however it is so cold that the pop immediately freezes (in the exploding position).

i havent done this yet, but that is the theory.

do you think this would work just as well with a can of pop (rather than a small bottle)?

hmm. You never know unless you try... but if the container explodes for some reason, I'd rather deal with plastic shards than aluminum shards.
