Chemistry Major at Monmouth University

My son is recently admitted into Monmouth University in NJ and plans to major in chemistry. He's been accepted into a number of top colleges around the region, but likes Monmouth. Does anyone have insight into the chemistry program and how it ranks amoung other programs in the northeast?

Is it possible to enter into an engineering career with only having a chemistry major?

Are there promising internship programs for chemistry majors?

Is there a benefit to attending Monmouth as a chemistry major as compared to attending another schools chemical engineering program?

Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I dont have info on Monmouth U. However it is 3 towns down the shore from me. I would think it would be hard to get an engineering position w/ol getting an undergrad engineering degree at a minimum. Which you cannot get at Monmouth. Most engineering programs take all 4 years of study and you cant transfer in after 1 or 2 yrs. Have you looked at Rutgers? They have a very good engineering program and have relationships with NJ Drug mfgrs like Johnson & Johnson. Also UDEL is very good for chemical engineering and has very close ties to Dupont, I think. Hope this helps.
