Chemistry On-Line Self-Assessment Exam?

so im trying to login to that ecommons site with my cruzid gold and it was invalid. i then changed my password, tried to login with my new password, and it was still invalid. anyone else having these problems or am i the only one?

i was having the same problem. for the chemistry exam and the spanish one

oh okay. so its not just me! i thought i was making some kind of mistake or something!

Try changing/setting your cruzid gold via <a href=“CruzID Gold Login - Stale Request”>CruzID Gold Login - Stale Request; ?
There’s a difference between your cruzid blue and cruzid gold, so maybe you have to change/set your gold one on that website.

thats actually how i changed my password then i used my new password (and i made sure it was the gold one) but was still counted as invalid! i guess ill try again tomorrow…

I forgot my Gold password/id so now I need to call them to get a new one/retrieve the info. Why couldnt they just have ONE god damned account rather than 2.

i just set up my Gold password, it accepted me, but then i got to this page that just said eCommons and aked for ID and password again. i cant get passed that now TT_TT

well the site is working cuz i just took the test

Could you please provide me with a link? D:

The website I found doesn’t’ have a link that works (it says ‘Click here’ but the text doesn’t’ do anything when I click on it) – thanks!

i finally logged in! the other day i used this same password and wasnt able to get logged in…oh well, just as long as it works now!:)

and heres the website: [Chem Self Assessment Exam](http://undergrad.pbsci.ucsc.edu/advising/gettingstarted/ChemSelfAssessmentExam.html)

thats the same website i used. just follow the instructions and you’ll be good ^^

Thank you so much!! :D

Thanks!!! (: this totally helped!

should anyone who’s planning to take a chemistry course take this exam? i wasn’t notified about this…

It just helps you decide whether to take Chem 1P or 1A

oh alright, thanks

I got a score of 30 and now I cant decide which to take, hahaha. Its just on the border of “just study the test and you’ll be fine” and “you should take 1P to be safe” lol

It’s been over 3 years since I took chemistry (my score fell in recommendation for Chem 1P), but does Chemistry 1A require THAT much knowledge (what it tested on) about Chemistry before walking into the first lecture?

Someone on FB said Chemistry 1P covered the basics of Chemistry, but Chemistry 1A covered that and more (and in this case, would I be fine to take 1A) or should I play it safe with 1P?

I’m actually learning towards taking 1P. Dunno about you Snowbee, but I figure trading in the time of 1 quarter to not only reinforce what we already know (and I take it that you, like me, have some good basic knowledge of chem principles), but maybe even learn something we missed when taking Chem so many years ago. That way we’ll be better suited and less stressed when taking on 1A. Just my opinion though.

Having gone straight into Chem 1A last year, I think I probably would have struggled less had I taken 1P. I took chemistry my junior year of high school, so I still remembered some things, but I ended up with a bad professor and he didn’t help much in terms of review.

We really just dove into the material, nobody was there to hold your hand. If you are hesitant, I suggest taking 1P just as a refresher.
