I have to take the CHemistry readiness assessment before i go to preview. I dont know how well i will do on it because i havent taken any chemistry since 10th grade and have forgotten most of it.

Is taking INtro to chem before general chem looked down upon by many medical schools? What are the other negative results from taking Intro to Chem first?

I would suggest taking CHM1025 summer B and CHM2045 in fall. Med schools wont look down on you. Also your teacher is Dr. Mitchell for 1025, he can be very rude when answering students questions.

i dont really know much chemistry, i also took it in 10th grade and dont remember much. How hard would it be just taking CHM2045 without CHM1025?

My daughter has to take the Calculus Readiness Test this week (so she can register for MAC 2233 (Survey of Calculus...required course for business majors) for the Fall next week at Preview. Does anyone know if the readiness tests are timed and how long they are?

boohahhah--> If you are willing to work hard then you can go ahead to 2045. 1025 cover the first 6 chapters of the book. The first test in 2045 is on the first 6 chapters of the book.

seiclan-->they are not timed. Also the stuff on the readiness test she will not see in her survey class because business calc doesnt have trig (eg: cos, sin, tan) in it, only the analytical calc for science/ eng majors have that stuff.

Yes they go over it but its more fast paced. The entire semester in 1025 you go over the first 6 chapters. In 2045 they lecture at a fast pace, where your first test will be about the first 6 chapters. If you believe you can keep up with the work then jsut take 2045. I personally went straight into 2045, 1025 would of been a waste of time for me, but its can be challenge if your chemistry knowledge is lacking or not willing to put in the effort.

CHM2045: Information can only be accessed on WebCT (lss.at.ufl.edu) when you register for the class. You can probably get out of the lab before the 3hrs are up.
