Chemistry

How does Mich rank in chemistry? Also, what are the top programs for chemistry in the nation? I realize there are no undergraduate rankings, so graduate are fine.

Michigan's Chemistry department is ranked among the top 25 but not among the top 10. Here are universities that are particularly strong in Chemistry:

GROUP I:
California Institute of Technology
Harvard University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Stanford University
University of California-Berkeley

GROUP II:
Columbia University
Cornell University
Northwestern University
Princeton University
University of California-Los Angeles
University of Chicago
University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Texas-Austin
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Yale University

GROUP III:
Indiana University-Bloomington
Johns Hopkins University
Ohio State University-Columbus
Pennsylvania State University
Purdue University-West Lafayette
University of California-San Diego
University of Colorado-Boulder
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
University of Pennsylvania
University of Washington

Ironically, although Michigan's Chemistry department is one of the University's lowest ranked programs, it is considered to be one of Michigan strongest departments from an instruction point of view.

Thanks for the information.
