Chemistry

How hard is the SAT Sub Test for Chemistry? What books and/or sites are effective for learning?

From the combined experiences of me and my friends (the four of us all took SAT Chem, and collectively we tested in7 other subjects), chemistry is easily one of the hardest SAT II tests offered by the College Board. They effectively mix between hardcore memorization and mind-boggling concept applications, and you only have an hour to go through it all.

Don’t let that bother you though. With the right attitude and materials, you’ll be well on your way in getting that 800! I personally used Barron’s. I liked it because the practice tests were slightly harder than the actual exam, which made me certain to study certain topics in more details. On the downside though, I felt that they focus way more on the memorization aspect of the test and neglect the concept applications.
I took a PR test, and I felt that it more closely resembled the structure and style of the exam, but the questions were a little bit more easier.
My friend used Sparknotes and he said it was really helpful (he got the 800. I got a 780. Definitely consider his preference).

Good luck!!
