D is confused. Are all students required to take chemistry unless they can test out of it? Even business and pre-law majors?

No. I remember that there was some sort of chemistry pre-test during orientation that definitely wasn’t for everyone. I don’t actually know who it was for, presumably people who wanted to place out of general chemistry, but that’s probably what’s confusing her.

Every Wake student will have to take two courses from the biology, chemistry, math, physics, or computer science departments, but it doesn’t have to be chemistry (and there are courses that are labeled as being for non-majors which are specifically intended for those students who are petrified of science).

Thanks Ginny, that is a huge relief for her! Any other science is fine, but she did not get along with chemistry.
