Chicago or Dartmouth for pre-med

I can't begin to explain how excited I am to be accepted by both schools.

I'd like to know which of these two colleges is better for pre-med especially around placements into medschools. I'm also particularly interested in the environment especially towards black females; which school has a friendlier/closer-knit environment?
I'm not a sorority person, would that affect my ability to fit into any of these schools?

I'm an international student and I won't be able to visit any of these schools before making my decisions so I'd really like to get candid advice

I believe Dartmouth places better into the professional schools (at least according to a Wall Street Journal study). Dartmouth has had a better reputation historically, but the reputation of the undergraduate institution matters very little for medical school admissions, especially at the level of Dartmouth and UChicago. Grade deflation at UChicago can definitely make life harder if you want to get into medical school.

I would think that a cosmopolitan city like Chicago might be a little more diverse than New Hampshire. But, you can’t go wrong here, so relax and enjoy.

The grade deflation should not be a major issue. I think med schools realize that Chicago tends to deflate and accounts for it. However, it is also something that the university is working on, I believe.

It is highly unlikely that you are going to find anyone who has gone to undergrad at both places. Dartmouth people will you that there are plenty of people who come to hanover and then go to med school.

People at UC will you the same thing. It is a matter of personal preference. A while chicago is a large city, that in an of it self can make it harder for OP to connect with her fellow students.

Dartmouth really is a close knit environment and the the friends you make their tend to be your friends for life (as D is counting the days until she goes back for reunion this june).
