Chicago "shorts"?

Two of the Chicago supplement essays say:

"Respond by writing a paragraph or two for each question. This is your chance to play, analyze (don't agonize), create, compose - let us hear the result of your thinking about something that interests you, in a voice that is your own."

My "favorites" essay is currently four paragraphs and ~630 words (my "why Chicago?" essay is five paragraphs, but only 343 words). Is that too long?

My favorites essay was four paragraphs, but I cut it down to two, with 289 words. As for my why UChicago, I was able to convey my love in only 85 words. So, I would say perhaps you should reduce the length, at least for the favorites essay. Hope this helps.
