Chicago Waitlist call starts in a week!

I havent used my computer for like 4 days, and am just completely befuddled by all this info, true or not. This is all getting really gay, but some annoying irrational, perhaps false sense of hope drives me to still check this thread every few hours.

**** THIS.

Maybe I’m just bored, God help me.

i got the letter too except i got it last wednesday
and i have to reply by today the 14th…hmmm

i have received NOTHING. if they didnt notify me about the extended waitlist why dont htye just REJECTED ME. ***. seriously chicago…

I got the letter today in the mail. The funny thing is that I have to reply today as well. It was sent on the 8th, so it took SEVEN days to get here. But who’s complaining?

where are you guys all from? im from jersey and i havent received anything.

the lone star state :)

Im an international student and i think im being ignored by the adcoms, and havent heard anything at all.

my adcom emailed me back but now shes on vacation?? hahaha idk.
hmm. i didnt get anything yet…

I’m pretty sure they’ll release the majority of the people from the waitlist. I’m predicting that 100 tops will be asked to go on the extended waitlist. Maybe half will reject which leaves 50. Then, maybe a handful - if any - will be taken off. Oh, they’ve already taken quite a few people off the waitlist. My adcom told me.

This is bigbear again. I just got my call from holly and got in!!!

They are looking at the waitlist this so f***ing great!!!

I wish all of you the best.

Congratulations bigbearman! I’m trying to hold onto that last glimmer of hope D:
got the same letter as you so that’s sorta encouraging, but I really don’t see it happening for me haha ._. (My counselor is out of office, on vacation, so she probably can’t advocate for me at all)

congrats again! I hope you enjoy your time there if you’re matriculating :)

Okay, seriously? I haven’t received any sort of letter. This is very discouraging. Heh.

CONGRATS to bigbearman though!

I got rejected today, but my email was different from the one sensation posted, maybe because im international or sumn:

I appreciate your continued interest in the University of Chicago and thus feel all the more sorry to say that UChicago will be unable to offer you admission from the waiting list. We thank you for your interest and your patience.

Our inability to offer you a place in the Class of 2014 is Chicago’s loss. We can only wish you the best of luck at the school you will attend.

I should remind you that next year, if you still wish to think about attending the University of Chicago, we admit 40 transfer students each autumn quarter. Check our website for information.

damn. here we go guys.

HappyBuddha, I am sorry to hear that UChicago was not able to admit you. I am sure you will do well wherever you study. I have seen you post here so often that I was hoping that you would be taken off the wait list. Wish you all the best.

lol thanks, it was a bit of a reach to begin with anyway, taking into account this years yield and applications maybe il try and apply to their MBA

oh wells.

Still nothing…

yeah… i havent heard ANYTHING either…

Fontaine: where are you from?
Dontstopbelievin: I’m from NJ and I received my extended waitlist offer on June 7th…and then had to reply by June 7th.

i’ve received nothing as well. if we’re going to be rejected, why doesn’t chicago do it already? such an incompetent admissions office
