China: No longer the next US

Have you guys heard about how their having basically a repeat of the soviet purges and concentration camps in China? Now apparently most of the country is revolting against the who government system.

This basically completely destroys China's chance at becoming the new power house and replacing the US. It's too bad they were in such a rush to become competitive that they made the same mistake as the Soviet Union.....

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Anyone else hear any news about this?

Sources???

This is what I think, and correct me if I'm wrong: China has changed drastically for the better on the outside superficially, but deeper inside, there are still many problems (regulations, controls, quality, etc.) that quite honestly make me feel grateful to be living in the U.S.

That's at least the impression I got while in China; there was a noticable such difference even between China and Hong Kong.

Bump and China.

hmm i posted some sources, i guess they didnt go through, I'll look again

google.com works well too. just look up china concentration camps

I think sometime in our lifetime China's communist government will fall. We'll see what happens afterwards.

It's foolish to compare modern China and the Soviet Union, considering that China is an economic powerhouse regardless of any human rights violations that it may or may not be committing. At this point, if China's economy falls then the world will go down with it.
The people are hardly revolting. I've been visiting China every two years since I was an infant and I can tell you that the people's lives have become far, far better over the last decade or so. One of the main reasons that the CPC disregards human rights issues is that it considers raising the GDP and general standard of living more important.

Also, I'd hesitate and take a good look at your sources again. Propoganda seldom comes from only one side of the debate.

I have been to China a couple of times and each time I was there for a month...If you have seen the money that they have thrown into Shanghai and how western it is you would be amazed. There is no way that China is going to fall. They are slowing moving from communist to a democratic system....it will take many many years for it to happen but once you go democratic system it's hard for it to change. especially if the people finally get a taste of what it's like to have a disposable income. That is something that country has never experianced.
