Chiroprators near Elon?

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Chiroprators near Elon. I called Wells Chiropractic, as they are listed as the official Chiropractor of Elon athletics. They have a chiroprator come to campus for athletes, but non-athlete students usually go to their office in Burlington. D will not have a car, and none of the Chiropractors are on the biobus route. Anybody have any experience or advice? Recommendations of practitioners in the area?

You might look into getting a zip car account. It costs about 25 dollars a year and then your student can reserve one of the zip cars on campus. For 8 to 9 dollars per hour, your student can drive unlimited miles and everything, including insurance and gas, is covered. My daughter uses this and it has worked out great for this sort of errand or trip not covered by the biobus routes.

Thanks Kierans I hadn’t thought of that. Great idea. :)

My D has been to Wells several times. She found them to be friendly and accomodating to students and their schedules–same day appts, etc. She has a car and says the office is definitely not walkable. D is not a student athlete either. Wells was referred to us by our local chiropractic Dr.

Thanks Clara, that’s good to know. We/ve been leaning towards Wells; they were very friendly on the phone, and Elon endorses them so we figured it was a good bet. Glad to hear that it’s going well for your D. :)

D used the Zipcar her freshman year. It worked well, but be aware of a few things:

She will need to reserve the car in advance. Shouldn’t be a problem if she’s making a doctor’s appointment in advance, but I’d reserve a car at least a week ahead if not more.

Also, she should reserve it for a little longer than she expects to need it. It’s only $8 or $9/hour, but if you bring it back late there’s a $50 fine. Better to reserve it for an extra half-hour for $4 or $5. If she builds in a little extra time she can run some errands while she’s out and avoid the hassle of dealing with the Biobus!

This forum is so helpful! Thanks for the tips Lafalum. . . that will spare us a bunch of “learning curve”. :)
