I am looking to see if anyone has had experience with cab or car services to get to and from Elon and Raleigh/Durham airport? My D has lined up a couple of kids that are on her flights to share but I am wondering which is the most reliable/best services.

I am aware of Elon's shuttle however the it is not lining up with flights that we have already booked and to be honest, it is just a waste of time to be sitting around the airport for 3.5 hours waiting for the shuttle...the shuttle leaves at 6:00 and 10:00 and their flight is scheduled to land at 6:01 - go figure.

My daughter has always gotten rides with friends (or given rides, since she now has a car on campus) or taken the shuttle. She usually has some work with her, so a wait in the airport isn’t totally wasted.

I think cabs are about $90. If your daughter had a friend she could split the cost with, it wouldn’t be too bad.

So, I found RDUYellowcab dot com…flat rate to or from Elon/RDU for $85 - regulated by RDU…she has found two other kids to share so it may work out! It is an easy online reservation process…

I had the exact same question momofboston! My son needs a ride to Greensboro airport on the 10th and the shuttles don’t leave until the 11th. Anyone know a reliable taxi service to Greensboro airport? He did the shuttle all last year and the waiting around does get old. Thanks!

FYI - My S used the taxi service from Greensboro airport to and from Elon for Fall break and it worked out great. Full cost was $66, but he was able to split it with another student.

My D has found some type of FB page that enables kids to connect and share taxis…it has been working out well for her - she has been paying either $33 or $25 depending on whether she connects with 2 or 3 kids…
