What's the final like for Chem1 Lab? Is it a test or another lab? And on what? Is it in groups?

It’s supposed to be based on the practice problems that are at the end of each lab. I’ve heard that this years chem1 lab is way harder than previous years, so I’m not sure if advice from this forum will be accurate.

Yeah, CHM2045L has changed a lot. I took in in Fall 2008 and there was no final.

lol… a final?

Before you were basically guaranteed an A if you just showed up to lab.

I wish we were so lucky, I have to work my ass off just to get a B. It doesn’t help that my TA is a total ******nozzle…

I didn’t know there was a final for CHM 2045L. When I took it, there was no final.

yeah, it’s rather a bit harsh now…

According to the syllabus the final is worth 100 points (out of a total of 1075), and an A in the class is 900/1075 (83.7%). So basically if you have enough points from the experiments you could skip the final or do very poorly on it and still finish with an A. I’m guessing it’s a test because you’re supposed to do the practice problems to do well on the final, and it’ll take place at a yet to be determined location on Saturday, December 11, from 12:30-2:30.
