just to make sure.

kids on rehab that want to try and remain substance free, or kids that have probably never done drugs and want to room with kids that will probably never do so?

& one more. I know that explorations and the residential college programs have the option of being in the program and having low cost housing at the same time. but can you be in low-cost housing and choices at the same time?

can choices and explorations mix? can choices, explorations, and low cost housing mix?

Your second question is a good one, call up NYU to find out the answer to it, I doubt anybody here will be of much service to you in answering a question that specific.

As for your first, statement.. I would assume you could request that. Otherwise, there is a group on Facebook.com called "NYU 2011." You can post "room-mate" profiles, maybe find somebody you feel comfortable rooming with. I doubt you'll end up with anybody that is so deep into a drug or alcohol habit that you won't be able to coexist with them. I suggest just noting your roommate preference on your dorm selection application when the time comes. Give them a call, they may be able to do something about this. You can always switch rooms if it gets bad..

(I wouldn't advise digging around on Facebook for new "friends," but it's an option..)

Anyway, hope it works out for you.

Don't do choices, the kids on those floors are so lame, and they are put with non-choices people anyway becuase there is very little demand for choices. If you dont want to drink don't do it. You dont need to live with a bunch of anti-social kids who do the same. Most kids on choices are just lame kids who dont drink.
