Choosing 2 languages to study?

I might go to a swiss/american college(acreddited by both countries) located in an italian speaking city. As of now I am in HS in Spanish 4 and French 2. In college I will get to choose 2 languages to study at the same time; choosing from the following: Spanish, French, German, and Italian. My second year through my fourth year I will be able to take part in Italian Immersion living in a swiss/Italian home. Due to this, I do not think I would need to study Italian to pick it up and learn to speak it. Therefore I have to choose from French/German/Spanish regarding the 2 language courses I will take. Should I continue with spanish and French or switch it up? I can understand Spanish quite well but I know I am nowhere near fluent. The thing is that I really want to learn German, French is an extremeyl important language and is the official langugae of the UN, and Spanish is part of my culture and I could also skip a couple levels....

I want to be able to speak 3 foreign languages by the time I get my BA.
If I am doing international relations BA + a major or minor in 2 languages what would I get my MA in? I want to possibly be a professor in my later years after I do peace corps or work abroad or teach english abroad or something but if I wanted to teach 2 languages would I need 2 MA degrees?

Definitely stick with french, and if you are already at level four in spanish, I would suggest learning it on your own (it is much easier to do this if you are already proficient), and take german. I have found that when you are starting a language, you will want to be able to ask someone questions on a regular basis. Also, it is very easy to take a class in one romance language and teach yourself another.

I would go with German, because the German economy is the main engine in Europe.

Agree with Floridadad. German as the “extra” language. Many, many big companies in Germany - I work for one :)
