I want to become a biomedical engineer someday. I am interested in the medical field but also in engineering so it would be a good fit. I would specifically want to work in the research and development of mechanical body parts(if that makes sense). So I would think that I get a bachelors in BME with a focus in biomechanics followed by a masters degree, however, I've read alot of people saying that it would be more beneficial to get a mechE with a focus on biomedical and then a masters degree in biomedical. So I guess I'm asking which is my best bet. Which options up more biomedical job opportunities and better prepares someone for biomedical engineering.

On a second note, I'm just curious about the salary of biomedical engineers. What does it start at for bachelors vs. masters? Does a masters degree open up more doors down the road? What are some actual numbers? What does the future of the biomedical engineers salary look like?

Thanks in advance
