Choosing a language level...

Anyone else as confused about this as I am? I took the placement test online...the first time it put me at the highest score for French 203, so I took it a second time to clarify and scored well into 204...I e-mailed the French dept. head and she recommended 204, but I'm still nervous that it will be too difficult and I'll always be a step behind. Should I start out at the lower level?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You'll have three weeks at the beginning of the semester to add and drop classes, so you can start in 204 and then move down if you need to, or go to both classes for the first couple weeks and then decide.
