Language

OK so I just took an online placement test for Spanish and tested into Spanish-103. I think I'm completely screwed because I had a slight amount of help on the test (:D) and seriously do not think I can get an A in this class unless it's really easy.

Does anyone have any idea how hard the language courses are? Or if you tested into a higher level, how good would you say you are at the language. I feel like I probably would have tested into the level 2 course if I just did it 100% with no help.

David, the language classes are not very hard! Don’t worry  I think the placement tests are made especially difficult so that you are not placed in an upperlevel class unless you are truly ready for it. The 101-103 classes are not to be scared of AT ALL! I placed into French 103 my freshman year, and had no problems tackling the material. So don’t worry about it at all!

Was anyone else annoyed when they learned they needed to complete a language through the third level to fulfill the requirement? My academic requirements online tell me I only need one course, but surprise! I actually need two semesters of a language…apparently I didn’t look close enough. Does this vary according to major?
