<p>Okay I was just reading through another thread on here and someone posted that it wouldn't be smart to say that you want to major in business when you're applying for Harvard. I am still waiting on SATII scores so I'm waiting to practically the last moment to apply but would it be wise to say that business is what I want to major in? Is Harvard the type of college that tries to meet quotas for each of their majors or am I just misinterpreting what someone said? Also, if this is true, what do you think is the wisest major to check off, would you be able to change majors while you are there, and if so then when? Thanks for your help in advance.</p>

<li><p>Harvard generally doesn’t care what you say you want to major in since you’re likely to change your mind 2-3 times when you get there.</p></li>
<li><p>Indicating a major may help Harvard get a better idea of what your interests are, so it could help that way. It is a bad idea to pick a random major to try to game the system because it will be easily detectable as such.</p></li>
<li><p>You have until the middle of your sophomore year at Harvard to pick a concentration, and even when you do, you can change it later.</p></li>
