I really want to go to Harvard but don't have a major in mind

So, I'm still only a sophomore in high school but I really want to go to Harvard and I'm working really hard in school right now. I have a 4.6 GPA and I'm taking challenging classes. However, I don't have a specific major in mind and as of now i don't really know what i like to do..

^^ You don’t need to have a major in mind, as everyone enters Harvard College as a Liberal Arts Major. Every Admissions Officer, Harvard included, knows that most students change their major at least once during their four years of college – so, it really does not matter what you write down as your “intended” major. And, you don’t have to select your major until your sophomore year!

Luckily for you, this does not matter in the least.

Take hard classes, and do well in them. Become the kind of student that teachers in your school know, even if they’ve never taught you–because you’re smart, or because you’re a leader on the playing fields, or because you’re such a talented musician, or for whatever reason works for you.

Then you’ll have a shot. No guarantees, but a shot.

Okay…

You have exactly 4 years from this point to decide your major.

In the spirit of optimism, start thinking about a “concentration,” not a “major!”
