Hi, I'm currently a freshman at MIT. By the end of next semester I have to choose a major, and I'm stuck. I've always wanted to, at some point in my life, get an MBA (I just can't seem to picture myself working as an engineer my whole life), so I'm wondering which of these majors offers the best transition to Business: Computer Science, Materials Science, or Math? I was leaning towards CS, but the CS department here is extremely rough and I don't know if I could manage to pull a good enough GPA. I believe the average GPA is around a 3.0 (converted). Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that GPA is not a huge consideration when you're talking about B-school admission. Far and away the most important criterion is your work experience/leadership ability.

As for the 3 you submitted, I would say CS is probably the most "business-ish". Materials Science might work out nicely too.

But hey, you can always just do your undergrad at Sloan. What's wrong with Sloan?

I like Sloan, however, I'm very interested in each of those three subjects. It seems as if it would be easier to change from a technical field to business than vice versa.
