I am currently a sophomore at University of Maryland, but I need to get out of state and get a fresh start. I experienced some depression last summer, which led me to taking the Fall 2013 semester off (leave of absence). I am back now and am doing better than ever, but I still want to make a change. I applied to Elon, and I have loved the school ever since I visited there three years ago, but I doubt that I will be able to afford it if I get accepted. After hours of looking for schools similar to Elon, nothing has really got me excited. Also, I didn't decide to start applying until recently, so I missed deadlines for many schools.

My criteria is:
-Small (not under 5k students), or medium-sized school
-Somewhere I would be able to afford out-of-state
-Relatively selective, but certainly not too selective (good high school GPA and SAT, but my freshman-year GPA was only a 2.71 at UMD)

Thanks a lot and appreciate any advice/personal experience!
