Choosing a pharmacy school

I'm currently going to Miami University (ohio) and transferring to UC in the fall. I've complete all english and humanities required for University of Cincinnati Pharmacy school and only have to complete all the other requirements, which i estimate will take a year and a half to two years.

I've been set on going to UC for pharmacy school, but I'm aware that I need to apply to many other places. I'm new to college choosing, since I always knew I was going to go to miami which is 30 minutes from my house. I want to apply to as many Ohio pharmacy schools as I can, but I'd like some insight regarding pharmacy schools all over the united states. I have a 3.96 GPA, but I need to start doing community work in order to increase my chances of getting accepted.

Additionally, I would love to go out of state and live on campus. Do pharmacy schools usually have on-campus students? My parents are retired and only earn 30k a year; because of this, FAFSA almost completely covered my tuition. I'm worried about being able to meet the financial requirements for schools out of state.

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Ohio Northern has a good pharm school and students live on campus. They have good merit aid as well.

I was looking into Ohio Northern, but i got the impression they require applicants for their pharmacy school to complete pre-pharmacy at ohio northern.

I'll probably end up doing three years pre-pharmacy anyway, but any school that requires a bachelors degree is out.

ONU is a 6 year school, so it is not worth applying there. Ohio State U requires a bachelors. There are several pharmacy schools in Ohio. The schools don't require that you physically live on campus, but you have to live close enough to get there everyday. The financial aid situation changes once you start pharmacy because you are an independent student. You'll loose all grants and work-study. You'll gain more loan opportunities.

Out of state: Creighton Univ. in Omaha, Nebraska

University of Pittsburgh

Also, look into getting pharmacy technician experience, it's very highly recommended for pharmacy applicants.
